SOFTWARE DEVELOPER SDET
Job Description:
Our Client is looking for a Software Engineer in Test (SDET) for the strategically critical Market Making (MM) product development team. Travel retailing is moving into a new phase of opportunity - this team will help put the right inventory in front of the right customer at the right price to help differentiate us from the competition. As a SDET on the Market Making team, you will work closely with Dev and PM, and get an opportunity to influence early design decisions to ensure product quality. Together with your team members, you will be responsible for test and automation design, tool creation and harness for our sophisticated back-end features. In addition to automation, you will be responsible for developing test plans and executing test cases for some of our non-UI driven features like the personalization system as well as pricing engine, drive quality improvements across the team and troubleshoot live site issues.

Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities include working with Dev/PM/Test to design and implement test plans, test cases and validation strategies.
- Design and code automated tests (functional and regression), run manual tests; report metrics and bugs, verify hot fixes to the live site, participate in release cycles and more.
- Strong contribution to requirements gathering, specification reviews and dev design in the early stages of the project.
- Identify opportunities for process, tools and test methodology improvements and drive those from concept to implementation.
Requirements:
- Excellent understanding of testing concepts, test methodologies and how test fits into the SDLC.

- Good understanding of object oriented programming with strong coding and debugging abilities.
- Ability to leverage and integrate different industry-level automation frameworks/tool practices within Expedia.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with test automation techniques and testing tools is required, and knowledge of more advanced testing methodologies such as model based testing is a plus
- Ability to develop, design and implement back-end automation.
- Familiarity with industry best practices for quality management is a plus.
- Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Experience working on agile development & testing processes is a plus.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field only.
- Minimum 5+ years of Software development/testing and automation experience required.
- Solid design and development skills in one or all of the following C++, Java, C#, Junit, CPPUnit.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases & XML preferred.
- Good experience working on Windows 2003 and Java platform
- Deep knowledge of Internet technologies is required
