As a Lead Mixed-Signal ASIC Designer,  you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary circuit design team pushing against the limits of CMOS performance to develop state-of-the-art mixed-signal electronics for next-generation.

Job Description

You will research, design, and test low-noise, low-power, and high-fidelity mixed-signal ASICs and electronic systems.

  • Contribute to the design of complex, multi-channel, high-performance, mixed-signal electronic devices that push the limits of power consumption, noise, speed, bit-depth, and size
  • Integrate digital signal processing and control electronics for optimal system performance, power consumption, and cost
  • Transition designs into production
  • Contribute in all phases of the ASIC development cycle{{:}} architecture design, process selection, circuit design, simulation, design validation, and testing
  • Effectively communicate results by preparing written reports and making presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and value obtained

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related scientific field with a concentration in Mixed Signal IC design with at least five years of experience
  • First-hand experience of a complete mixed-signal ASIC design, including fabrication and testing
  • Experience with low noise and low power design
  • Proficiency in CMOS/BiCMOS designs
  • Proficiency in circuit analysis using modeling software (SPICE, SABER, ELDO, SPECTRE)
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals at the Masters level for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

Desired Characteristics

  • Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field with a concentration in Analog IC design
  • Hardware design experience with VHDL and/or Verilog programming and design
  • Proven design and analysis skills in the area of Analog-to-Digital conversion and signal processing
  • Experience with medical imaging and signal processing
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, or similar, programming for signal processing and data analysis
  • Expertise in signal processing and/or DSP design

Familiarity with analog design in deep submicron processes (

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY, but remote work may be possible for highly qualified candidates.
